Listening for worms

The other evening, a very excited Ukiah came to me and said he could hear the worms popping up out of the ground. We've listened to a book on tape where a boy describes his wilderness adventure and Ukiah remembered that this boy said he could hear the worms after a rain. We'd recently had a lot of rain so he decided to listen. Imagine his surprise when he actually heard them! We gathered his brothers and all went to listen for worms. There were little popping sounds...sort of like Rice Krispies when you put the milk on. :)

Oh, I'm going to have to share that with our boys and my beloved. I'm sorry I don't comment enough on here. lol Listen as to why I don't. I normally get so excited with your posts and all the great pictures that I call everyone over to take a look, then they take over the mouse to look at the other pictures that they have seen before, and there goes my free time. Yestereday it was my beloved. I called him over to look at the snakes. He was in shock. He got really close to the screen to look at it. lol

I really like the last photo, your son looks so happy and content, just as a child should.

I really like that photo too Ann. I have been thinking I will frame it...it seems like a good one to have on the wall. His smile was so genuine and he was having so much fun with the worms. What a good memory.
